New hardanger embroidery runner finished

Here it is my new hardanger embroidery runner !! I can't stop admiring it !!

Αυτό είναι το νέο μου runner κεντημένο με την τεχνική hardanger !!  Δεν ευχαριστιέμαι να το θαυμάζω!!

    

Here there are both my runners the one-coloured and the two-coloured side by side.
Threads used: cotton perle DMC No 5 and No 8, colours 352 (coral) and 739 (ecru).
Fabric used: 2 count (8 threads/cm) cotton evenweave matching the ecru thread colour.

Εδώ παρουσιάζονται και τα δύο μου runners, το μονόχρωμο και το δίχρωμο, το ένα δίπλα στο άλλο.

Κλωστές : κοτόν περλέ DMC Νο 5 και Νο 8 στα χρώματα 352 (κοραλί) και 739 (εκρού)

Ύφασμα: βαμβακερό με 22 κλωστές/ίντσα ή 8 κλωστές/εκ. σε χρώμα ιδιο με την εκρού κλωστή.

Hardanger Progress report #4

All the stitching has eventually been finished!  Now it's time to cut the bonds between the fabric and the runner.

Το κέντημα τέλειωσε επι τέλους! Τώρα έφτασε η ώρα να κόψω τα νήματα που συνδέουν το ερχόχειρο με το ύφασμα.

Καλό Πάσχα! - Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all!! With a traditional onion-dyed egg.

Καλό Πάσχα σε όλους!!! Με ένα παραδοσιακό αυγό βαμμένο με κρεμμύδι.

I use white hard boiled eggs that I fold with the outer dry peel of an onion and tie them in an old stocking. Then I put them in boiling blue (or green) dye until the onion's colours transfer on the eggs.

Χρησιμοποιώ άσπρα σφιχτά βρασμένα αυγά που τα καλύπτω με τις εξωτερικές ξερές φλούδες κρεμμυδιού και τα δένω μέσα σε μια παλιά γυναικεία νάυλον κάλτσα. Τα βάζω μέσα σε μπλέ (ή πράσινη) μπογιά που βράζει έως ότου οι χρωστικές της φλούδας του κρεμμυδιού να χρωματίσουν τα αυγά.

Hardanger -Finished once and for all when hooped!!

I've noticed that once you have your fabric put in a hoop, you must finish all the stitching in the area so as not to have to place the same area once again in it, as existing stitches may be damaged. Therefore I made a plan that helps me finish all the stitching in each triangle (the inner and the outer perimeter) and then remove the hoop.

Παρατήρησα πως αφού τοποθετήσεις το εργόχειρό σου σε τελάρο, πρέπει να τελειώσεις όλο το κέντημα στην επιφάνεια έτσι ώστε να μη χρειαστεί να το ξανατοποθετήσεις  στο τελάρo καθώς οι κεντημένες περιοχές κινδυνεύουν να καταστραφούν. Γι αυτό το λόγο έφτιαξα ένα σχέδιο που μου επιτρέπει να ολοκληρώσω κάθε γλώσσα (και την εσωτερική και την εξωτερική περίμετρο) και μετά να βγάλω το εργόχειρο από το τελάρο.
